NUJ gets new chapel at Okopoly

*NUJ chairman lauds Mass Comm Dept

The Moment FM chapel, of Nigerian Union of Journalists, Anambra State has been inaugurated. The event held at the News Editing Laboratory of the Department of Mass Communication, Federal Polytechnic, Oko.

Moment FM Chapel domiciled in the Department of Mass Communication, Federal Polytechnic, Oko becomes the 20th NUJ chapel in Anambra State. 

The new chapel has Dr. Onyeka Uwakwe as Chairman while Mr Benjamim Obioha is Vice Chairman. Mr. Arinze Okeke is Secretary of the new chapel. While performing the inauguration, Chairman of NUJ Anambra State, Comrade Emmanuel Ifesinachi charged all new members of the chapel to promote good journalism culture in every respect and promote the integrity of the profession.  Comrade Ifesinachi urged the chapel to positively identify with the state activities. He also commended the department for the standard of facilities  and quality graduates in the industry.

Post inaugural speech

In his post inaugural speech, new Chapel Chairman Dr Onyeka Uwakwe stated the the Department of Mass Communication which is the mother department of Moment FM shall continue to produce quality students expected to contribute positively to national development.  Dr. Uwakwe stated that the department is a flagship department of Federal Polytechnic, Oko  asserting that the department has over the years produced graduated that have excelled in the industry and academia.

Dr Uwakwe assured the gathering that Moment FM shall continue to fill the gap in educational broadcasting and community news. Other Anambra State officers in attendance were, Vice Chairman Comrade Ekpone Francis and Secretary, Comrade Emma Udeagha. The event was attended by a cream academic staff of the department.

Dr. Uwakwe who is also the Head of Department  later took the visitors to a facility tour of the department.
